If you ask what character in Dragonball is the everlasting enemies, you’ll get the answer as goku and Vegeta.They were always enemies but unbelievably later they stay at the same side and cooperating each other to fight with other new enemies. They first met in the earth after Radiz (Goku’s elder brother) had killed.

Firstly, Goku’s power was much less than Vegeta’s but he could win over Vegeta because of his freinds. After that, Goku’s power is different from the begining. His power has increased a lot and has it more than Vegeta because he practices very hard. In the fight with a competent enemy - Frieza, he can transform himself to be super saiyan, making him have even more power than Vegeta.

Goku and Vegeta have same level of power again in Cyborg war as Vegeta can also transform himself to become super saiyan. In the fight with Cells and Majin Buu, Goku’s power has been over Vegeta. Moreover, Goku can transform to be SSJ3. That makes Vegeta give up and accept in Goku’s ability and accept that he’s number one of Sayan.

In DragonballGT, Goku can transform to be SSJ4 while Vegeta can be only SSJ2. It shows that Vegeta’s power is much far away from Goky’s. Then, Vegeta has a hope to become number one of Saiyan because he can transform to be SSJ4 by the help of Bluma. At the end of the story, both Goku and Vegeta have power of SSJ4.

There are two fighting wars between Goku and Vegeta in the earth. Goku won for the first time and for second time, the result is “even” in Majin Buu fight.
